8:00 a.m. Registration for members of the Council and distribution of materials
8:45 a.m. Gathering of all members in the conference room
Opening remarks by Phrakrusiriatthavides, Secretary General of the Council
9:00 a.m. Lighting of the candles and incense sticks by the Buddhist chairperson to pay homage to the Triple Gem
– All members pay their respects
– Phra Videsdhammarangsi, the Abbot of Wat Thai Washington, D.C.,
welcomes all the members
– Host of the ceremony delivers welcoming remarks and offers hospitality to the monks
– County official delivers welcoming remarks and receives a token of appreciation
– President of the Council of the Thai Bhikkhus in U.S.A. presents a report to the chairman of the conference
– Chairman of the ceremony gives a lecture and opens the conference of The Council of Thai Bhikkhus in U.S.A. annual session 37/2013
– H. E. Mr. Chaiyong Satjipanon, the Ambassador of The Royal Thai Embassy of Washington, D.C., delivers a speech and receives a token of appreciation
– Secretary of the Council introduces all conference members from the temples in the U.S.A. and abroad
10:30 a.m. – Group pictures in front of the Uposatha hall
11:00 a.m. – Lunch offering to 280 monks in the all-purpose room
12:00 p.m. – Recess
1:00 p.m. – Beginning of afternoon session
– Phra Rajbuddhivides, the Council chairman, resumes the meeting
– Director of the Office of the National Buddhism in Thailand offers his perspective (twenty minutes)
– Representative from Mahachula Buddhist University offers his perspective (twenty minutes)
– Representatives of Buddhist Missionaries from Europe, Asia, and Australia offer their perspectives (ten minutes each)
– Continuation of the meeting
4:30 p.m. – Recess, offering of beverages (Pana)
